The Myanmar Muslim Association of Western Australia (MMAWA) is a community-driven organization dedicated to supporting and enriching the lives of Myanmar Muslims living in Western Australia. Established with a vision of fostering unity, understanding, and cultural preservation, the association serves as a beacon of support, providing religious, social, and educational services to the community.

The Myanmar Muslim Association of Western Australia was founded by a group of dedicated Myanmar Muslims who saw the need for a supportive and culturally connected community in WA. Over the years, the association has grown, becoming an integral part of the local Muslim and broader WA community.
The association's key milestones include:
  • Establishing a mosque for prayer and community gatherings.
  • Offering educational programs such as Arabic and Quran classes.
  • Providing humanitarian aid and support to new arrivals and refugees.
  • Organizing annual cultural events that celebrate the rich heritage of Myanmar Muslims.

Community Engagement
MMA-WA actively engages with both the Myanmar Muslim community and the wider Western Australian community. Through interfaith dialogues, charity events, and collaborations with other organizations, we aim to foster understanding and goodwill.
Our involvement with other cultural and faith-based organizations has strengthened the ties between communities, ensuring that the Myanmar Muslim presence in WA is both recognized and appreciated. Programs & Services
MMAWA offers a range of programs and services designed to meet the spiritual, educational, and social needs of the Myanmar Muslim community in WA.
These include:

Religious Services
  • Daily prayers, Jumu’ah (Friday prayers), and special religious events such as Ramadan and Eid celebrations.
  • Quran classes and Islamic studies for children and adults.
Educational Programs
  • Language classes in both Burmese and English to help community members better integrate into Australian society.
  • Youth development programs that encourage learning and leadership.
Community Support
  • Charitable initiatives, including food drives, donations for the less fortunate, and supporting refugees.
